The creativity of adult learners from across York will be showcased in an exhibition at York Central Library entitled 'Inspirations 3'.
City of York Council is holding the exhibition at the library on Museum Street from Friday 23 March until Sunday 25 March. It will be open between 10am and 4pm daily.
As well as being able to see some of the work that has been created by adult learners, the event will promote the range of artistic opportunities on offer and encourage potential learners to get involved.
Claire Douglas, the council's curriculum manager for the arts, said: "The visual and performing arts exhibition will be an opportunity to see some of the excellent artwork created through City of York Council's adult and community education service. It is a chance to see the variety and sheer quality of work that has been achieved."
Inspirations 3 will feature:
- an art exhibition featuring the work of learners in a wide range of
styles
- a community project themed ‘different time, different place’,
which is for members of the public to view and for visitors to the
exhibition to take part in
- performing arts demonstrations
- demonstrations of techniques
- a chance for people to drop in and try a taster session in a variety of
artistic disciplines, including photography, painting, floristry and
contemporary jewellery-making.
Inspirations 3 will also include awards presentations to some adult learners in recognition of the wonderful artworks that they have created and their achievements during their course. This will include awards for ‘commitment to learning’ and ‘most improved learner'.
