A three year action plan, highlighting York's key priorities for the next three years, has received the government's backing.
Created by York's Local Strategic Partnership - the Without Walls Partnership - the plan outlines how partners, including health, education, the environment, the police and voluntary sector, can work together more effectively.
The aim of the plan is to improve the lives of local residents
including:
- reducing crime and anti social behaviour
- improving employment opportunities for local people
- preventing ill health by encouraging people to live healthier lives
- reducing our impact on the environment
The plan, called a Local Area Agreement (LAA) is part of a government programme to encourage greater co-ordination between central and local government and their partners. The agreement forms part of the city's 20 year Community Strategy.
Copies of the full three-year plan are available from the Without Walls website, www.yorkwow.org.uk, and a short summary version will be available in local libraries.
