City of York Council today began carrying out preparatory work to enable the resurfacing of the entire length of Montague Road in Bishopthorpe to begin next week (Monday 26 March).
The preparatory work will take one week to complete, depending on the weather conditions, with some of the surface being removed this week and the resurfacing work starting on Monday 19 March. It forms part of the council's annual carriageway resurfacing programme.
The hours of work on site will be 9.15am until 4pm from Monday to Friday
and, for safety reasons, it will be necessary to close the road whilst the
resurfacing work is carried out. A signed diversion route will be in place
and the road will reopen at the end of each day's work.
Tarmac Ltd. is the contractor carrying out the work on behalf of the
council.
Delays are anticipated, so motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
