Egg-citing times for Orchard Park

Posted on Thursday 8 March 2007

A trio of Huntington School sixth formers is arranging a special free easter event to raise funds for Orchard Park Community Centre.

Helped by £100 provided by City of York Council's Youth Service, pupils Zoe Harbour, Natalie Evans and Tasha Boyd, have arranged an easter egg hunt for under eight year olds on Wednesday 21 March from 2-5pm at the centre on Badger Paddock, Kestrel Wood Way, Huntington.

Accompanied by their parents, the children will fill in one of two quizzes, which will be based on their ages, and trade these in for an egg.

There will also be an easter card craft activity, children’s games, a tombola and
refreshments.

The sixth formers are currently busy contacting local businesses to asks for donations of easter eggs, raffle prizes and other resources.

The trio wanted to be involved in their local community and chose this project, which is supported by their local youth workers, as part of their sixth form personal development plans.
