Posted on Thursday 8 March 2007

City of York Council will be carrying out pedestrian improvement works on the B1363 at the crossing point to the north of Mill Lane Junction.  The work will begin on Monday 12 March and last for two weeks, subject to weather conditions.

This work involves removing the existing pedestrian refuge island and replacing with an improved facility. A new footpath section will be constructed on the west verge area adjacent to the crossing point. The work will also include refreshing of road markings in the vicinity.

The work will be carried out between 9.15am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday.  To undertake the work safely it will be necessary to close a road lane during working hours and temporary traffic signals will be in operation.

The contractor carrying out the work will be City of York Council's Neighbourhood Services team.

Slight delays are anticipated and drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
