City of York Council are to carry out essential structural repairs to the Severus Bridge (railway), Water End. The works will start on 5 March and will last for two nights.

During these works temporary traffic signals will be used and the hours of works will be between 8.00pm and 6.00am.

The works involve the replacement of expansion joints to the bridge deck.

Similar works and arrangements will be carried out on two other bridge locations:

·The Earswick Bridge- A1237, Earswic, where the works will start on the 7 March and last for two nights

· The Millfield Lane Bridge - A1237, Nether Poppelton, where the works will start on Saturday 10 March and last for two nights.
