City of York Council will resurface the carriageway along Wetherby Road, starting on Monday 5 March, and lasting for three weeks, subject to weather conditions.
The work involves removing the existing surface, some deep carriageway patching and laying a new road surface and is part of the City of York Council’s annual carriageway resurfacing programme.
The work will be carried out in three separate phases between 9.15am and 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. To undertake the work safely, Wetherby Road will be closed during all three phases. Outside the hours of work the road will be re-opened to traffic as normal. The footways will remain open for the duration of the works.
The existing routes for the 412 and 413 bus service through Rufforth will be diverted during the hours of closure during each of the three phases. Alternative arrangements have been made for residents wanting to travel by bus whilst the work is being carried out.
Delays are anticipated and drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
The contractor carrying out the work will be Tarmac National Contracting Ltd.
