A new customer finance team has been created within City of York Council's housing and adult social services directorate to improve the level of service provided to customers.
The move has seen three teams brought together under one manager to create
a central team that will be responsible for:
- benefits advice and financial assessments for social services
customers
- billing queries for residential and non-residential care services
- court of protection and public guardianship cases
As well as further enhancing the level of service provided to the customer,
the new working arrangements will improve the accuracy and timeliness of
customer billing; enable information to be shared and communicated more
easily; and streamline the processes that make the service more efficient.
Debbie Mitchell, head of finance for housing and adult social services, said: "We see the formation of this new team as a more efficient and cost-effective way of working that will enable us to provide an even better service to our customers."
All of the members of the team will be based in the same office at the council's offices at 10-12 George Hudson Street.
