Celebration day at Clifton Children's Centre

Posted on Tuesday 5 June 2007

Clifton Children's Centre is holding a huge celebration day on 21 June that will enable the local community to go along and see the fantastic, purpose-built  facilities for themselves.

The event will feature strawberry teas, parachute games, entertainment from the Canon Lee School Band and school choirs, a balloon race, a toy bus and dancing.

The fun begins at 3pm and will continue until 4.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Clifton Children's Centre opened last year, bringing together Sure Start; the family support team; the Little Acorns neighbourhood nursery; health visitors; family learning tutors and Job Centre Plus advisors under one roof.

It enables people from across the Clifton area of York to access services more easily, as well as ensuring that care and support services for children from birth to 16 years and beyond are integrated more effectively. City of York Council's youth service also has a presence at the new centre, ensuring that young people aged up to 25 years are also catered for.
