Moor Lane, Dringhouses & Woodthorpe carriageway resurfacing

Posted on Friday 29 June 2007

City of York Council is to carry out essential carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing of Moor Lane. The work will start on Monday 9 July and is programmed to last for approximately two weeks.

The work will take place Monday to Friday between 9.15 am–3.30 pm.

In order to carry out these works safely a temporary road closure of Moor Lane from the roundabout at Chaloners Road to the junction of Allness Drive will be necessary during these hours. A signed diversion route for through traffic will be in operation during these times.

The road closure will be supervised at each end to prevent unauthorised access and to advise motorists on the current point of access to properties within the closure.

All bus stops which fall within the boundary of the works will be closed during the times of the works and notices will be posted to direct passengers to the nearest available bus stops.

No work carried out on the 13 July (race day) and the road will be fully open to through traffic on this day.

The contractor carrying out the work will be Tarmac Ltd. Delays are anticipated and drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
