People with disabilities in the Tang Hall area of York will be able to take part in a series of new dance workshops from Monday (25 June).
Organised by City of York Council, the classes will be held at Tang Hall Community Centre from 1.30pm to 2.30pm every Monday, and are open to people with disabilities aged over 16 years, and their carers. The classes cost just £1.00 per person and carers can attend free of charge.
The visitors will get the opportunity to take part in a variety of different dances, including modern dance, salsa, Scottish dancing, belly dancing and movement class.
Caroline England, disability sports officer, City of York Council, said: "People really don't need any previous dance experience to attend these classes - just enthusiasm! They're sure to be fun, so why not come along and give them a go?"
No booking is required for the classes as people can simply turn up on the day. However, anyone wanting further information should call Caroline on 07769 880108.
