City of York Council's youth service is launching a new youth club in the Community Hall at Orchard Park in Huntington.

The new service will enable local young people aged between 11 and 19 years to access advice, information and support, and take part in fun activities, including dance, drama, arts and crafts, and trips and outings.

It will be open for two nights a week to begin with - on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between the hours of 6.45pm and 8.45pm - starting from tomorrow (Wednesday 25 July). All young people from the local area are welcome to go along.

Area youth worker Louise Tait explained: "We are delighted to be able to offer this new service to local young people. We had identified a gap in existing provision and were keen to improve the range of services on offer to young people in this part of York. I hope that they will come along and make the most of this exciting new venture."
