City of York Council is advising residents and visitors that the gents toilets at St George's Field have had to be temporarily closed for safety reasons.

The decision was taken as a result of damage to the floor tiles, which could pose a hazard to people using the toilets.

Temporary repairs will be carried out and it is hoped that the toilets can be reopened by Friday morning.
