19 January 2007: Clarence Street resurfacing work

Posted on Friday 19 January 2007
City of York Council will start resurfacing the road in Clarence Street, York on Monday 22 January.

The work will take around two weeks to complete, so long as weather conditions are favourable, and involves removing the existing surface, carrying out some deep patching work and then laying a new road surface. It forms part of the council's annual carriageway resurfacing programme.

Work will be carried out between 7pm and 11pm from Monday to Friday, and traffic will be controlled by portable traffic lights during these periods. Delays are expected and drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.

The footways will remain open for the duration of the work and temporary bus stops will be in place. Travel information will be displayed at bus stops to keep travellers informed.

Tarmac Ltd. will carry out the work on behalf of the council.
