City of York Council has organised a Credit Union open day at the Bellfarm community centre on Tuesday 27 February.

The event will be attended by a Credit Union representative, a Citzen's Advice Bureau advisor and an officer from the council's benefits team, all of whom can provide information and advice to people who attend

It will be an informal, drop-in session open between 11am and 4pm, which will enable people to ask questions or join the Credit Union. Private facilities will be available for people who wish to discuss money or debt issues, or ask about welfare benefits. Light refreshments will be provided.

If membership increases sufficiently, the Credit Union will be able to operate a weekly or fortnightly pay centre at the community centre.
