Win advance copy of new novel

Posted on Tuesday 20 February 2007

Read Write York plays host to novelist Katherine Bucknell this Saturday (24 February) and is offering one lucky local resident a pair of tickets to her reading at Central Library and a copy of her new novel 'What You will'.

Published on 5 March 2007, the novel exposes the bonds of friendship, love, marriage and morality. It has been described as a subtly wrought, multi-layered, and hypnotically suspenseful tale about how we handle our most intimate relationships.

Katherine Bucknell is a journalist and editor of Juvenilia: Poems 1922 -1928 by W.H. Auden; ‘Diaries Volume One, 1939-1960' and 'Lost Years: A Memoir 1945-1951' by Christopher Isherwood. Her previous novels are Canarino and Leninsky Prospekt.

Admission to the event is free but places should be booked in advance by contacting Central Library on 01904 552815.

Thanks to Harper Collins, the council is giving one local resident the chance to secure a pair of tickets for the event and receive an advance copy of 'What You Will'. To stand a chance of winning, entrants should send their name, address and telephone number on a postcard and send it to:  Anne Mortimer, Read Write York, City of York Council, Mill House, North Street, York, YO1 6JD.

Entries must be received no later than noon on Friday, 23 February.
