Ticket giveaway for opening event at Literature Festival

City of York Council is giving away a pair of tickets for the opening event of York's first ever Literature Festival.

Residents are invited to submit their name, address and telephone number on a postcard if they wish to be entered into a free prize draw for two tickets to see Eva Salzman reading in the Chapel Space at York St. John University.

The reading will mark the official start of the Literature Festival and takes place next Wednesday, February 28 at 7.30pm.

Eva Salzman is one of the most daring, witty and realistic poets working in the UK today. She will be reading in the new Chapel Space at York St. John University.

Tickets for the event are priced at £5 and available from York Library. This includes a glass of wine.

However, one lucky resident will win a pair of complimentary tickets in the council's free prize draw. Entries should be sent to: Anne Mortimer, Read Write York, City of York Council, Mill House, North Street, York, YO1 6JD. The closing date is Friday, 16 February.
