Tadcaster Road / Sim Balk Lane Junction Improvements

Posted on Tuesday 27 February 2007

York's drivers are being advised to continue to allow extra time for their journeys for the next few weeks due to ongoing major roadworks in the Tadcaster Road area of the city.

To help with the works, the right turn into Sim Balk Lane has been closed and drivers are being diverted to the Askham Bar roundabout to turn back to Sim Balk Lane where a left turn can be made.

Driving out of the city, the section of road between Askham Bar roundabout and Sim Balk Lane is reduced to one lane only.

Due to ongoing work by the utility services, this element of the scheme will now have to be extended until the end of March. Roadworks will be in place 24 hours a day.

Additional work will be required over the following weeks to finalise works for the new college site and the project is expected to be completed by 13 April.
