York's drivers are being warned to allow extra time for their journeys next week due to major roadworks in the Tadcaster Road area of the city.
Due to work by Yorkshire Water and British Telecom in connection with the new York College, there will be no right turn into Sim Balk Lane, heading into York, from 2pm on Sunday 11 February. Drivers will have to go up to Askham Bar roundabout and turn back to Sim Balk Lane.
Driving out of the city, the section of the road between Askham Bar roundabout and Sim Balk Lane will be reduced to one lane only. The work will last for ten days, with the roadworks in place 24 hours a day. However, additional work will be necessary over the next few months to finalise the new college site.
