Statement of Community Involvement adopted

Posted on Friday 14 December 2007

City of York Council has entered the first phase of the Local Development Framework, following a robust consultation exercise.

The council has given the go ahead to the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) which  sets out how the community can contribute to the Local Development Framework, outlining how York should develop in the future. It also sets out how people can get involved and comment  on planning applications.

The statement also outlines how and when people can get involved and air their views on the other 'parts' of the Local Development Framework.

In order to adopt the SCI, the council had to go through a number of stages of preparation, involving three stages of community consultation and examination by an independent inspector.

A copy of the SCI is available to view on the council's website, in Guildhall and City Strategy receptions and in all City of York Council libraries.
