Millfield Lane carriageway resurfacing
Posted on Friday 31 August 2007
City of York Council will start resurfacing Millfield Lane from its junction
with the A1237 to the entrance of the British Sugar site next Wednesday 5
September.
The work is expected to take around two weeks to complete, providing weather
conditions are favourable. The working hours on site will be 7pm until 11pm
from Monday to Friday, although more minor work will be carried out between the
hours of 9.15am and 4pm from Monday to Friday.
In order to ensure that the work can be carried out safely, temporary traffic
signals will be in place. At times access will be restricted at the junction of
Millfield Lane and Kyle Way and also to the length of Millfield Lane that leads
to Nether Poppleton. This is likely to be for up to three evenings between the
hours of 7pm and 11pm, and a signed diversion route will be put in place.
Although work has been planned in a way that will keep disruption to a minimum,
motorists should expect some delays and plan their journeys accordingly.
The resurfacing work will involve some deep carriageway patching, the laying of
a new road surface and replacement of road markings. It forms part of the
council's annual carriageway resurfacing programme and will be carried out by
Tarmac Ltd. National Contracting.
