Students at City of York Council’s secondary schools are celebrating their success today in this year’s Key Stage 4 (GCSE) examinations.
Provisional results show that more than 68 per cent of young people achieved five or more A*-C grades, an impressive improvement on last year’s figure of almost 6 percentage points.
Pete Dwyer, director of Learning, Culture and Children’s Services for the council, said: “I am delighted that our schools are continuing to do so well. This is great news for York pupils. It is a testament to the dedication of teaching staff, the commitment and ability of pupils, and the support of families.”
