City of York Council is reminding residents that it will be even easier to vote this year, thanks to longer opening hours at the polling stations.
York's 122 polling stations will be open from 7am-10pm on Thursday 3 May - an hour earlier and later than in previous years - to enable residents to cast their votes for the local elections.
177 candidates are standing for the elections, with all the city's 22 wards being contested.
The votes will be counted on Friday 4 May.
