A total of 177 candidates will stand for the 2007 City of York Council elections on Thursday, May 3. Nominations closed at 12 noon today (Wednesday, 4 April).
The parties represented are: Labour; Liberal Democrat; Conservative; Green; Liberal; Raving Loony Party; Respect; BNP. Every ward is being contested.
Electors will be able to apply for a postal vote by collecting an application from the city’s libraries, council office receptions and on the council’s website www.york.gov.uk. Applications must be received no later than 5pm on 18 April, and should be sent to Electoral and Civic Services, Freepost YO182, The Guildhall, York, YO1 9ZF.
