Posted on Wednesday 24 May 2006
York residents will be able to tour one of the city's most famous houses free of charge this year.

City of York Council's civic team is offering tours of York's historic Mansion House - the official residence of the Lord Mayor - to local residents.

The tours, which normally cost £5 for adults and £4 for concessions, will be held on 3 June; 7 July; 6 August; 1 September; 7 October; 3 November and 2 December at 11am and 2pm. The tours take approximately one hour and there's no need to book.

Anyone wanting to take part should bring proof that they are resident in York (e.g. recent household bill or York Card).
