The assembly has been asked to co-ordinate an information fair to run alongside the distribution process in the Guildhall.
It follows a survey at last year's event to find out what issues were of concern to older people in the city. One issue which scored highly on the survey was 'getting information about what's available to York's older people'.
Penny Hutchinson, co-ordinator, York's Older People's assembly, said: "Over 10,000 older people are expected through the Guildhall during March and April to collect their bus passes so it's an ideal opportunity to provide information on a wide-range of issues.
"We are asking local voluntary and statutory groups and organisations who are involved with older people to contact us as soon as possible to book a space at the information fair."
Anyone interested in booking a space at the fair should contact Penny Hutchinson on 01904 552037.
