4.12.03: A59 Park & Ride scheme to go back out to consultation

Posted on Thursday 4 December 2003
Residents will get another chance to give their views on the siting of a potential new Park & Ride site on the A59.

The council's Executive member for planning and transport, Councillor Reid, together with members of the Transport and Planning Advisory Panel, agreed that residents in the vicinity of the proposed sites should be consulted on five revised options.

The latest proposals follow a citywide consultation on five original sites. Three of the five locations were highlighted by the council as fulfilling the requirements. A further two sites: G- to the south of the A59, opposite the Red Lion Pub and site F - north of the A59 between Hodgson Lane and Black Dike Lane, have been suggested.

The council's transport chiefs have been asked to suggest an appropriate form of consultation on the five key sites at their next meeting on January 7.
