Posted on Wednesday 20 August 2003
City of York Council's summer programme of activities for young people has proven such a success that further activities will be promoted for 5-18 year olds over October half-term (25 October - 2 November).

Young people have been able to take part in over 100 courses this summer, including performing arts, sub aqua, art, pottery and rap workshops. Details of the courses were distributed to 18,500 school children in the city and over 1050 course places were filled through YORtime alone.

Mary Bailey, development worker, City of York Council, said: "This has been the biggest summer programme ever organised by the council and it's been a great success with children and parents. The variety of courses has been immense, with something to interest kids from 5 years of age right up to 18 year olds." Details of events for October half term (25 October - 1 November) will be available soon.
