The workshops, aimed at the early years, are based on the theme 'stories around the world' and will bring opportunities for the young pupils in 55 York schools and nurseries to experience a programme of events from making Alaskan spirit masks, beating out rhythms from around the world and acting out an adventurous Brazilian story with musical accompaniment.
The events are part of Live Arts Week, organised by City of York Council's Arts Service. Gill Cooper, head of the arts service, said, "Live Arts Week provides an absorbing range of different activities which aim to develop the pupils' abilities in music dance and drama and helps instil team work, concentration and confidence."
