08.02.02: Scrutiny committee to consider proposals for the city archive

Posted on Friday 8 February 2002
City of York Council's scrutiny calling-in committee on Corporate and Environment will meet on Wednesday, February 13, at 4.00pm in the Guildhall to discuss a report outlining proposals for the future of the city archive.

The report was due to be considered at a meeting of the executive on February 8 and it relates to a partnership proposal made by the University of York for re-housing the city archive within a new facility at the Borthwick Institute.

The calling-in committee will consider the implications of the proposal, specifically relating to consultation, staffing, costs and splitting the collection, as well as copyright income, enquiry work and managing modern records.

Anyone who wishes to register to speak at this meeting should contact Adrian Tumber at City of York Council on 01904 551031 before 10.00am Tuesday February 12. Further information on the meeting is also available on this number.
