In a £23,000 scheme, City of York Council is implementing a number of safety works in a project which is expected to last two weeks. The scheme involves: providing anti-skid surfacing on the approaches and minor signing and lining. crossing point alterations on Tranby Avenue modifications to the road markings including those necessary to accommodate a proposed extension to the Hull Road Bus Lane improvements to the road markings on the roundabout to include cycle lanes in green coloured surfacing and clearer destination markings inclusion of safety barriers
To enable these new measures to be constructed safely it will be necessary to reduce the road down to a single lane controlled by temporary traffic lights, or stop/go boards.
The contractor carrying out the work will be the council's Commercial Services Organisation.
Working times have been scheduled to take place outside peak traffic hours and work will take place between 9.15am and 4pm Mondays to Thursdays, 9.15am and noon on Fridays and 9am and 5pm at weekends.
