Concrete kerb and paving 'build-outs' with bollards are being installed across one end of Nunthorpe Grove and Nunthorpe Crescent forming physical barriers to prevent vehicular through traffic. However, measures are included so that cyclists can continue to use the route.
A council spokesman commented "The idea to close the road came from local residents who secured funding through their local Ward Committee. Design of the scheme also evolved thanks to the involvement of residents. Construction was to go ahead during the summer but due to technical difficulties there was a short delay. However, both closures should now finally be in place before the end of November." END
