Discounts and concessions are available for most of the sporting activities at Edmund Wilson Swimming Pool, Oaklands Sports Centre and Yearsley Swimming Pool.

Local resident discounts

A YORKCard entitles residents of York to a discount. The YORKCard is available from libraries and must be shown on each visit to the facility to obtain the discount.

Concessions

The following concessions are available but proof must be shown on each visit.

Under 16s (under 5s go free) Junior or Young Person's York card and Yozone card
Disability Benefit  No proof required 
Carer for the disabled (entrance is free)  No proof required, should attend session alongside the person they are caring for
Incapacity Benefit Allowance book or written documentation from DSS (dated within the last 12 months)
Job Seekers Allowance (unemployment benefit)  Allowance book or written documentation from Job Centre Plus (dated within the last 12 months)
Working Tax Credit  Letter from HM Revenue and Customs confirming entitlement (dated within last 12 months) 
Pensioners (over 60)  Proof of age may be required (Bus Pass, Driving Licence)
Full time Students  Student card or NUS card 

We do not give concessions on the basis of  

  • being a part time student
  • receiving Child or Family Tax Credit
  • receiving Child Benefits.

For your safety we ask that:

  • The minimum age of entry for Women's Swim and Aquafit is 16 (14 when accompanied by an adult)
  • Children under 5 should ideally be accompanied on a 1:1 basis regardless of swimming ability
  • A responsible individual of 16 years or over is required to supervise no more than 2 under 8s or 2 non-swimming children in the pool.

Be Active Membership

You can pay a monthly fee for Be Active membership which gives you all the swimming you want!

Membership includes

  • FREE introduction to the gym
  • unlimited swimming at Edmund Wilson Swimming Pool and Yearsley Swimming Pool
  • unlimited use of TLF gym at Edmund Wilson Swimming Pool
  • unlimited health and fitness classes at Edmund Wilson Swimming Pool and Yearsley Swimming Pool.
