Secondary school aged disabled young people in York are eligible to attend a Talent ID day at Joseph Rowntree School on Wednesday 25 April from 4pm to 5pm. This is part of the Playground to Podium Scheme which is a national initiative to identify future Paralympic stars. Please see the leaflet at the right of the page for further information.

BBS provide sport and recreation for blind and partially sighted people.
CP Sport England & Wales
Cerebral Palsy Sport promotes and seeks to increase sport and physical recreational opportunities for people with a disability and especially those who have cerebral palsy.
Dwarf Sports Association United Kingdom (DSAUK)
DSAUK promote and develop sport for persons of restricted growth and to enable them to enter and compete in sport on an equal footing.
Disability Sports Events (DSE)
DSE create participation opportunities for disabled people with all impairments. They provide events in various sports which allow athletes to follow the pathways to international success.
English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS)
EFDS is the national body responsible for developing sport for disabled people in England. They work closely with the six National Disability Sports Organisations (NDSOs) recognised by Sport England to develop sporting opportunities for the 11 million disabled people in England.
English Sports Association for People with Learning Disability (ESA)
ESA prepares and supports gifted athletes with learning disability to participate in National, European and International competition and the Paralympics.
Mencap Sport
Mencap Sport provide sport for people with learning disabilities.
ParalympicsGB
The British Paralympic Association (BPA), brand name ParalympicsGB, is a registered charity which is responsible for selecting, preparing, entering, funding and managing Britain's teams at the Paralympic Games and Paralympic Winter Games.
Special Olympics Great Britain
Special Olympics Great Britain are the country's largest provider of a year-round sports training and competition programme for all people with learning disabilities.
Special Olympics City of York
The City of York branch of the Special Olympics has clubs providing Athletics, Boccia, Bowling, Football, Multisports, Swimming and Tennis.
UK Deaf Sport
UK Deaf Sport aims to encourage deaf people to participate, enjoy and excel at sport.
UK Sports Association for People with a Learning Disability
UK Sports Association for People with Learning Disability encourage the development of sustainable, integrated quality sports provision for people with learning disability from grass roots through to elite international opportunities.
WheelPower - British Wheelchair Sport
WheelPower provides accessible facilities at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the "home of Wheelchair Sport" including an Athletics Arena, Sports Hall, Indoor Bowls Centre, Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre. On site accommodation in the Olympic Lodge and the Olympic Village is suitable for a wide range of disabilities.
