York Sport Coaches Association (YCSA)

Who is YSCA for?

If you have an interest in coaching sport, or a qualification in leading, teaching, or coaching you are welcome to join. You may be new to coaching, or an experienced national level coach. Your coaching may take place in a school, a voluntary sports club or a sporting organisation. You may be paid or simply a volunteer.

What are the benefits of joining the YSCA?

You will be able to take advantage of a range or sports coaching forums, workshops, conferences and extended training opportunities. Some of these may be free of charge and others may be available at a reduced cost to you.

We will offer free advice on the level of qualification required by a coach to operate in a particular environment (e.g. school).

Your details will be added to our existing coaches database and your name forwarded to organisations that require coaches to deliver coaching sessions for them. This may increase your employment opportunities. To gain employment though, you are required to be a member of the YSCA.

We have also developed a lending resource scheme that includes videos, manuals and learning materials that you will be able to access free of charge.

As a member of the YSCA we will help you with any legal requirements including advice on Insurance, Child Protection issues and a satisfactory Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check.

How do I join YSCA?

To register as a member, or for further information about YSCA please contact sport and active leisure on 01904 553440. The application process involves completing a simple application form.

How do I contact coaches in the YSCA?

If you are a school, club or organisation wanting to make contact with a sports coach please give sport and active leisure a call.
