Advice for Sports Clubs

There are many ways we can help your sports club to develop.

Advice for sports clubs

There is a folder of information available to sports clubs who would like to apply for National Governing Body or Clubmark accreditation. Clubmark is a mark of recognition for sports clubs that are committed to providing a safe and effective environment for children. For more information see the Sport England website.

The pack contains easy to complete sections that build up evidence for clubs to use when they are assessed for accreditation. It also contains information that clubs can use to develop policies and codes of conduct.

Sports club presentation

This presentation helps you to look at where your club is now, where you want it to be and how you can get it there. It provides practical advice for volunteers, highlights the suport available, and who can provide it. The presentation is available to clubs on request.

Sports club policy statements

This is a collection of policy statements and codes of conduct that clubs can use and adapt to suit their needs. It includes a child protection policy.

List of sports facilities

This provides information for clubs and individuals who want to use sports facilities in York. It is a list of the facilities and where they are.

Find out more about council owned football pitches, tennis courts and bowling greens.

Running Sport programme

This is a series of Sport England workshops to help clubs develop and to support volunteers.

Loan scheme

We have a large amount of equipment which is available for clubs to loan. This is a free service, but a time limit is agreed so that other clubs can use the equipment too.
