  • Initial mark out: £104.95 (£89.32 + £15.63 VAT)

We use lime to mark out lines, which kills the grass and leaves brown marks when the white has worn off. This is harmless to animals.

Terms and conditions

Clubs are responsible for:

  • Providing their own goalposts, sockets and nets. Freestanding posts must be anchored securely to the ground. These must be inserted below ground level and inspected by a council officer.
  • Painting and maintaining goalposts throughout the season.
  • Marking out the pitch.
  • Marking the pitch number and team name on each crossbar and post so that they are easily recognisable to referees and other officials.
  • Filling in socket holes with compacted sand.
  • Removing litter from the pitch.
  • Notifying us if the secretary or treasurer changes.
  • Letting us know of any times they do not need to use the pitch. This way we can make it available to other people or clubs.

Clubs must not:

  • Share pitches with other clubs.
  • Charge other people or groups for use of the pitch.

The Knavesmire

Goalposts must be removed from the Knavesmire pitches before the first race meeting in May. We will remove any remaining posts and the club will have to pay for the cost of this. We are not responsible for the loss or damage of any posts we have to remove. In general they are put in the tractor shed on Knavesmire Road.

Motor vehicles are not allowed on the Knavesmire. Any club responsible for someone driving on the Knavesmire will be banned from using the pitch. The club will not be entitled to a refund and must still pay any outstanding debts. The club must remove their goalposts and any other equipment from the pitch within seven days of being excluded.
