As well as the war memorials that the council are responsible for, there are memorials under the care and maintenance of Parish and Town Councils and local businesses.  Details of some of these can be found below:-

Elvington

Elvington Village war memorial is located at 2 Blacksmiths Cottage, Main Street, Elvington, York, YO41 4AA and faces the village green.  It is a memorial to the 8 named residents who lost their lives in both world wars and also lists those others who took part.  Visit Elvington Parish Council's website for more information about the village.

Stockton on Forest

Stockton on Forest war memorial can be found just inside the gates of Holy Trinity Church.  The names of those listed fought in both world wars. 

Dunnington

The war memorial is situated in the village church graveyard and lists the names of some 21 service personnel who died between 1916 and 1918, all of who were from Dunnington.  The memorial is now used to officially recognise and pay respects on Remembrance Day with an accompanying church service and laying of wreaths.  More information about the village can be found on their Dunnington history website.

Naburn

Situated in St Matthew's Churchyard, York Road in Naburn the war memorial gives the names of those who gave their lives between 1914 and 1918.

Rufforth
