Location

The Archives are situated at the right side of the Art Gallery Building in Exhibition Square, York.

Contact Archives using the contact details on the right hand side of this page. Enquiries received by email are treated in the same way as letters: date-stamped and added to the enquiries file.

Opening times

Monday: 9.30am - 1.00pm and 2.00pm - 5.00pm
Tuesday: 9.30am - 1.00pm and 2.00pm - 5.00pm
Wednesday: CLOSED
Thursday: 9.30am - 1.00pm and 2.00pm - 7.30pm
Friday:  9.30am - 1.00pm and 2.00pm - 5.00pm

You do not need to make an appointment to use the archive.

Charges

There are no charges for researchers visiting the archives.

Staff will undertake research on your behalf. A fee of £17.63 (including VAT) may be charged - please ring for advice. Make cheques payable to "City of York Council".

• Microfilm reader/printer copies: 25p
