There is no charge to borrow books and audio books providing they are returned by the agreed date. Some other items carry a charge. These include DVDs, CDs and language courses.

These are the charges for holders of an 'child' membership (0-11 year olds).

You can pay at any City of York library. Payments can be made by cash or cheque.  Credit cards can be used at the Central Librray only.  If you have any questions about charges please contact us.

Children under 12 years cannot borrow audio visual material from the adult collection.
