Charges for borrowing items (adults)
There is no charge to borrow books and audio books providing they are returned by the agreed date. Some other items carry a charge. These include DVDs, CDs and language courses.
These are the charges for holders of an 'adult' membership (18 years and over).
You can pay at any City of York library. Payments can be made by cash or cheque. Credit cards can be used at the Central Library only. If you have any questions about charges please contact us.

Audio visual subscription
For just £18.00 a year you can take out an AV subscription, which lets you borrow DVDs, CDs and language courses for a reduced rate. See individual items for details of savings.
