Applying

We are now recruiting good qualified teachers who are available to work from September 2008.

Please indicate on a note accompanying your supply application form whether you have applications for other posts pending, and if so, when these applications are likely to be resolved.

If one or more of your referees are based in school, as we are now in a school holiday period there may be some delay in obtaining references.

Bearing in mind the number of applicants for supply work already received this summer, and the likely delay with references, any interviews will now be in late September 2008 at the earliest.

Eligibility for teachers

We do not recruit unqualified supply teachers. If you are a PGCE or BEd student you should return to this site when you have completed your course.

If you were not qualified in the UK visit the teachernet - Teaching in England and National Academic Recognitions Centre websites then phone us to discuss your prospective application. Please also see the guidance notes for overseas trained teachers, which you can download from the right of this page.

If you do not have recent teaching experience you may wish to consider volunteering in a local school or undertaking a return to teaching course. See the Training and Development Agency for Schools website.

If you are not available to teach in the next three months you should return to this site no more than 3 months before you are available to work.

Schools

Schools within reach of York wishing to arrange supply cover should telephone us with details of their requirements. We are happy to organise cover ranging from occasional half or full days to whole terms. Our charges are very competitive and all our staff have been fully checked and cleared.
