Catering and café work

Work as a cafe assistant within the libraries or a cook within elderly care services. 

Cleaning and caretaking

To work as an estate worker (servicing the city's communal areas), office cleaner or caretaker.

Driving

Work as a refuse collection driver, mobile library driver, delivery driver or mini bus driver. 

Finance and accounts

For work as an accounts assistant, finance clerk or accounting technician.

IT

Work as an ICT engineer or first line service analyst.

Library work

To work as a reading and learning advisor or reading information assistant in the libraries. 

Manual, technical and trade

For work as a waste loader, collecting the city's refuse or a park attendant maintaining York's parks and gardens.

Project work

Supporting City of York Council with their project related work across the various directorates.

Reception, call centre, secretarial and administration

To work as an administration assistant, office clerk, data entry assistant or customer service clerk.

Social care

For work as a care assistant, general assistant, cook, support worker or night care assistant in elderly or other adult residential homes or as a support worker helping in the community around the city.

Support staff in schools

Work as a midday supervisor, teaching assistant, cover supervisor, school clerical assistant, breakfast club assistant, after school assistant or exam invigilator.

Supply teaching in schools

To work as a supply teacher within York primary, secondary, nursery and special schools.
