Applications are welcome from all people regardless of sex, marital status, disability, age, race, nationality, sexuality or religious belief. People with a disability who meet the requirements of the job are guaranteed an interview if their application is supported by a Disablement Employment Adviser (based at the Job Centre).

The council also operates a Job Share Scheme to enable people to share a full time job. Job details are available on audio tape by request.
