The Groves

The Groves is close to the city centre, Sainsbury’s supermarket and the convenient mixed shopping areas of Lowther Street and Clarence Street.

The Groves is made up of nine "houses". These are:

• Carnaby House, 1 x 3 storied block of 6 flats
• Coxwold House, 2 x 3 storied blocks of 6 flats
• Craythorne House, 3 x 3 storied blocks – 6 flats in each of 2 blocks and 7 flats in the third
• Cropton House, 2 x 3 storied blocks of 6 flats
• Helmsley House, 1 x 4 storied block – warden's office and communal room, 5 flats and 3 masionettes
• Kilburn House 1 x 4 storied block of 6 flats and 3 masionettes
• Pickering House 1 x 4 storied block of 6 flats and 3 masionettes
• Sinnington House 2 x 3 storied blocks of 6 flats
• Wykeham House 1 x 3 storied block of 6 flats and 6 masionettes

Helmsley House and Pickering House both have a stair lift from ground to first floor.

Each flat is self contained. Helmsley House and Pickering House have stair lifts between the ground and first floor. All flats have a telephone point, television socket and central heating.

There is a small common room in Helmsley House, with modest kitchen and washroom facilities.

Each building is fully covered by a fire alarm system, and each flat is fitted with a fire detector.

There is some parking space for tenants.

Tenants' meetings

The Groves is covered by the Groves Residents Association, and all tenants are welcome to attend these meetings. The community policeman liases closely with the warden.
