Lovel House

Lovel House is situated in the heart of Dringhouses. It looks out onto the rugby field, and is close to two Post Offices, doctors, churches and a variety of shops. It is close to direct bus routes to Acomb and to York.

There are 25 properties, comprising of bungalows with one bedroom and flats with one and two bedrooms. The bungalows have been adapted to disabled living standards. All properties have a telephone point, television socket, and central heating. Each has a well-equipped kitchen, a good-sized lounge with fitted gas fire and surround, a double bedroom, bathroom and toilet combined with either a bath or walk in shower (in some cases both). Each property has its own walk in storage cupboard. The two bed roomed properties have an additional single bedroom. The flats are arranged in 6 groups of 4. Each has a stair-lift.

A hairdresser calls one day per week to visit tenants in their own homes, by appointment.

Each property and the common room is fitted with a fire detector.

There are attractive garden areas which tenants are encouraged to use.

There is some parking space for tenants.

Tenants' meetings

Tenants' meetings are held at regular intervals. Lovell House is in the area covered by Dringhouses Residents' Association, and all tenants are welcome to attend these meetings.
