If your care needs increase, all the care you need to enable you to remain living independently in your own home can be delivered to you within sheltered housing with care. Barstow House, Gale Farm Court, Glen Lodge and Marjorie Waite Court offer sheltered housing with care.

A team of staff is on duty to provide a range of support services, including help with: getting into and out of bed, dressing and undressing, preparing meals and eating, washing, bathing and use of the toilet.

These services are designed to offer residents as much freedom and choice in their lives as possible.

Applying for sheltered housing with care

Anyone can apply for sheltered housing accommodation, you do not have to be an existing council tenant. For sheltered housing with care accomodation, a referral will need to be made by a social worker or care manager.

To apply for sheltered housing you will need to apply to join the York housing register.
