What is the Single Access Point?
The Single Access Point (SAP) coordinates referrals into supported accommodation and housing related floating support schemes in York.
Run by the Access Officer, the role of SAP is to work with both service providers and referrers in order to ensure that customers are able to access the most appropriate support or accommodation in a timely manner.
Through the use of the bespoke SAP form, the Access Officer can assess the needs of the customer and route them to the service that can best meet their needs. This form can be downloaded from the bottom of this page.
This means that the referring agency does not have to identify the provider, but is free to make a general support or accommodation referral.
The SAP works with a variety of professionals and agencies but cannot accept self referrals direct from customers. Contact SAP by phone on 01904 554095 or via email at SAP@york.gov.uk
The SAP also acts as an information hub and can offer advice and signpost onto a variety of services.
