Organisations running nursing or residential care homes have a legal responsibility to make sure they are meeting essential standards of quality and safety. These are the standards you should be able to expect when you receive care, and are regulated by the Care Quality Commission. CQC carry out regular compliance reviews to ensure each care home is meeting the essential standards.
