The Golden Triangle Partnership was set up in 2005/6 to tackle housing affordability in high value areas across York, North Leeds and Harrogate. In 2010/11 the decision was taken by the Partnership Board to close the partnership on 31 March 2011 due to reductions in funding.
Over the 6 years that the Partnership has been running it has been successful in securing over £7 million funding from the former Regional Housing Board. With this funding the Partnership ran many successful schemes including a low cost home ownership product, mortgage rescue scheme and loft conversions to ease overcrowding in social housing. All of these improved the lives of households living in the Golden Triangle area.
The affordability strand of the Partnership will be integrated into the Leeds City Region to ensure that the work of the Partnership over the last 6 years is not lost and can be further developed in a wider geographical setting.
